CCTV mobile view setup
Live view and playback of your cameras on your phone, set up properly, including for systems someone else installed.
We set up CCTV viewing on Android phones and iPhones for new installations, and fix mobile view on existing systems around Chandkheda, Tragad, Motera, Gota, Jagatpur, Zundal and Nirma University.
What we set up
- Recorder onlineThe DVR/NVR is connected to your router by cable, not Wi-Fi, and given a fixed address so it doesn't drop off after a power cut.
- Brand cloud linkWe link the recorder to the brand's cloud service so the app finds it from anywhere, without opening ports on your router.
- App on your phonesInstalled and logged in on each phone you want, with the cameras named the way you know them.
- Playback testWe play back a clip from earlier that day and show you how to save it to your phone.
Common mobile view problems
| What the app shows | Usual cause |
|---|---|
| "Device offline" | Recorder lost internet: router changed, cable out, power cut |
| Live view works, playback doesn't | Disk full with overwrite off, or a failed disk |
| Password wrong after years of working | Recorder was reset, or the app updated and lost saved logins |
| Very slow or keeps buffering | Weak upload speed, or main-stream quality on mobile data |
If your internet provider swapped your router, mobile view will almost certainly stop. That's a ten-minute fix if you know the recorder's password, and a longer job if nobody does. Keep the admin password written down somewhere safe.
Common questions
Mobile view stopped working suddenly. Why?
The usual reasons are a changed Wi-Fi password, a new router from your internet provider, a recorder that lost its network cable, or an expired cloud login. All are quick fixes once we know which one it is.
Can my whole family see the cameras?
Yes. We add the recorder to each person's phone, ideally with separate view-only logins, so you can remove someone's access later without changing everyone's password.
Does mobile view use a lot of data?
Live view uses data only while you're watching. A few minutes a day is small. Watching for hours on mobile data adds up, so use sub-stream or 'fluent' quality on the go.
Something not working? Call before you come.
We can often tell over the phone whether it's a quick fix or a day's job.
