The backup nobody sets up
The most painful call we get is a shop whose only Tally data was on a hard disk that has just died. Recovery is sometimes possible, but often expensive and never guaranteed. An automatic daily copy to a second place costs very little to set up. If your Tally runs on one PC with no backup, ask us about it on your next visit, or see data backup.
Branch offices

Common questions
Can you move my Tally data to a new computer?
Yes. We copy the Tally data folder, install Tally Prime on the new PC, point it to the data, and open each company to confirm everything is there.
We have Tally ERP 9 data. Will it work in Tally Prime?
Tally Prime uses a newer data format. Older ERP 9 data needs to be migrated with Tally's migration tool. We do that and check the balances match after.
Two people need to use Tally at the same time.
That needs a multi-user (Gold) licence and the data on one machine that the others connect to over the office network. We set up the network and sharing.
How should Tally data be backed up?
Daily, to a second location: an external drive, a NAS or a cloud folder. We set up an automatic copy so it doesn't depend on someone remembering.
