The Dell adapter pin
Older Dell barrel chargers have a thin centre pin that tells the laptop what wattage it's connected to. If that pin is bent or the cable is damaged, you'll see "AC adapter type cannot be determined", slow charging, or the battery won't charge at all, even though the light on the adapter is on. Often the adapter is the fix, not the laptop. See charging repair.
Latitude and Vostro for offices
Many offices around Chandkheda and Gota run on Latitude and Vostro laptops. These are worth keeping going: batteries, keyboards and SSDs are straightforward, and they upgrade well. For a fleet, an AMC covers checks and repairs together. We also sell refurbished Latitudes.
Common questions
What's the Dell service tag and why do you ask for it?
It's a 7-character code on the sticker under the laptop. It tells us the exact model and configuration, so we order the correct screen, battery or keyboard the first time.
My Dell shows a battery warning at startup.
Dell laptops check battery health at boot. A warning usually means the battery is worn or the adapter isn't recognised. We test both before replacing anything.
Is it worth repairing an old Latitude?
Often yes. Latitudes are built to last, and with a new battery and an SSD they make excellent second laptops or student machines.
