LAN, Wi-Fi and WAN networking
Cabling for a new office, Wi-Fi that reaches the back bedroom, two branches sharing one Tally, and a router that doesn't need restarting every evening.
Surya Computers plans and installs networks for offices, shops, schools and homes in Chandkheda, Tragad, Motera, Jagatpur, Gota, Zundal and around Nirma University: wired LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, firewalls, and links between branches.
LAN cabling
For a new or renovated office, we plan the points (desks, printers, cameras, access points), run Cat6 cable in conduit or false-ceiling trays, terminate it into a patch panel in a small rack, and label every point at both ends. A labelled network saves hours later, when someone asks "which cable goes to the accounts PC?"
Already have messy cabling? We tidy and re-label existing racks too.
Wi-Fi setup and dead spots
Most Wi-Fi complaints we get are coverage, not speed. The internet plan is fine, but the signal doesn't reach. We walk the place with a signal meter, then fix it in the cheapest way that works:
- Move the router to a central spot, off the floor and away from the TV and fridge
- Add a mesh unit where cable can't go
- Run a cable to a ceiling-mounted access point where it can, which gives the most reliable result for offices and coaching classes
Router and firewall
We replace the provider's basic router where it's struggling, set up a separate guest Wi-Fi for visitors, block risky sites for staff if you want, and change default admin passwords, which are left unchanged more often than you'd think. For offices, a small business firewall adds content filtering and safer remote access.
WAN and branch connectivity
If you have a shop and a godown, or two offices across the city, a site-to-site VPN connects them over ordinary internet lines. Billing and Tally on the main server, printers and shared folders all become reachable from the branch. We can add a backup internet line that takes over when the main one drops.
Server and NAS setup
A small NAS (network storage box) gives an office one place for shared files and automatic nightly backups of every PC. For Tally and billing software that several people use at once, we set up the data on a central machine with a proper backup routine.
Network AMC
Routers hang, switches fail in summer heat, and someone always changes a Wi-Fi password without telling anyone. A network AMC covers scheduled checks and priority breakdown visits, and can be combined with a computer AMC and CCTV AMC.
Common questions
Why is my Wi-Fi slow in some rooms?
Brick and RCC walls block Wi-Fi, especially the faster 5 GHz band. A single router in one corner rarely covers a whole bungalow or office. Moving the router, or adding a mesh unit or a wired access point, usually fixes it.
Is mesh Wi-Fi better than a range extender?
Usually yes. Cheap plug-in extenders halve the speed and create a separate network name. Mesh systems hand your phone over smoothly between units. A wired access point is better still if a cable can be run.
Can two of our offices use the same Tally data?
Yes. A VPN link between the offices lets the branch connect to the main office's Tally server as if it were on the same network. Tally's own remote access options are another route. We'll suggest what fits your setup.
Do you work with any internet provider?
Yes. We set up our equipment behind whatever router your provider gives, whether Airtel, Jio, BSNL or a local cable operator.
Something not working? Call before you come.
We can often tell over the phone whether it's a quick fix or a day's job.
