Ink tank printer service
Blank pages with full tanks, missing colours, streaks, or a printer that blinks and refuses to print. Epson L-series, Canon G-series and HP Smart Tank printers serviced at our counter.
We service ink tank printers at Surya Computers in Tragad: Epson L3110, L3150, L3250 and other L-series models, Canon G2010 and G3010, and HP Smart Tank printers.
The idle-printer problem
Ink tank printers are cheap to run but sensitive to sitting unused. In Ahmedabad's dry months, ink in the nozzles dries within a couple of weeks of no printing. The first sign is a missing colour or thin white lines through text. Ignore it and the head blocks completely. Many "dead" ink tank printers we see were simply left unused through a vacation or exam break.
What we do
- Nozzle checkA test pattern shows which colours are blocked and how badly.
- Manual head cleaningCleaning solution worked through the head and ink lines. Gentler and more thorough than repeated software cleanings, which waste ink.
- Waste pad and counterIf the printer reports the pad full, it's cleaned or replaced and the counter reset.
- Alignment and testPrint head alignment and a full colour test page.
If the head is physically damaged, from running dry for months or the wrong ink, a replacement head is quoted. For older printers we'll compare that with a new printer's price.
Don't run head cleaning ten times in a row. Each cycle uses a lot of ink and fills the waste pad faster. Two or three tries, then bring it in.
Common questions
My Epson prints blank pages even with full ink. What's wrong?
The print head nozzles have dried and blocked, usually after the printer sat unused for a few weeks. Run head cleaning from the printer utility twice, waiting a few minutes in between. If it's still blank, the head needs manual cleaning.
The printer says 'service required' or lights blink alternately.
On Epson L-series this usually means the waste ink pad counter has reached its limit. The pad is cleaned or replaced and the counter reset.
How do I stop the head drying again?
Print one colour page every week, keep the printer covered from dust, and use the brand's genuine ink bottles. Mixed or cheap ink can thicken in the lines.
