Printer installation and setup
New printer out of the box, a printer that stopped printing after a Wi-Fi password change, or an office where only one PC can print. We set it up properly, once.
Surya Computers installs and sets up printers for homes and offices in Chandkheda, Tragad, Motera, Jagatpur, Gota, Zundal and around Nirma University: on Wi-Fi, shared across PCs, and printing from phones.
What a proper setup covers
- Fixed network addressSo the printer doesn't "disappear" after a router restart.
- Correct driversFull drivers from the maker, not the basic ones Windows picks.
- Every PC addedTested with a page from each computer.
- Phone printingFrom Android and iPhone over Wi-Fi.
- Scan to folder or emailFor multifunction office printers.
- Default settingsDraft or duplex as default to save ink and paper, if you want.
Why printers "go offline"
The usual reason is the printer getting a new IP address from the router after a restart, while the PCs still look for the old one. Giving the printer a fixed address stops most "printer offline" calls. Weak Wi-Fi where the printer sits is the other common cause. Sometimes moving the printer, or connecting it by cable, is the real fix. See Wi-Fi setup.
Common questions
My printer stopped working after we changed the Wi-Fi password.
The printer still has the old password saved. It needs to be reconnected to the network, and sometimes re-added on each PC. It's a quick fix onsite.
Can everyone in the office print to one printer?
Yes. A network or Wi-Fi printer is added to each PC directly. For a USB-only printer, it's shared from one PC, which has to stay on, or connected through a small print server.
Can I scan straight to my computer or email?
Most office multifunction printers support scan-to-folder or scan-to-email. We set up a shared folder or email account for it.
Something not working? Call before you come.
We can often tell over the phone whether it's a quick fix or a day's job.
